Sergio Aguero’s place in Manchester City’s first team in under threat after the 28-year-old striker started City’s last two games on the bench due to Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola preferring Gabriel Jesus.
Chelsea are among a host of clubs that have been linked with Aguero, who has a contract with City until the summer of 2020 and according to a report by The Times, it could take as much as £80 million to sign Sergio Aguero.
Aguero’s Argentine teammate Gonzalo Higuaín moved to Juventus at 28 for £75.6 million last July and the report by The Times claim Manchester City will demand well in excess of £80 million if they want to sell Ageuro.
French side Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly considering making a move for Aguero though the French champions believe Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez is a more attainable target given that the Chile striker has only 18 months left on his contract at Arsenal.
If Diego Costa remains at Chelsea at the end of the season, it’s almost certain Chelsea won’t make a move for Aguero due to the high transfer fee Manchester City might demand. Conte is a huge fan of Romelu Lukaku and Alvaro Morata, so Chelsea will definitely prefer Lukaku or Morata instead of going for Aguero if Costa leaves at the end of the season.
