Chelsea are favourites to win the Premier League title this season. The Blues are 8 points clear at the top with just 13 games left to play.
Manchester United legend Gary Neville has warned Chelsea’s likelihood of continued glory will depend on the hunger of the players rather than the methods of Conte.
“I don’t think it’s a case of whether or not the training programme is sustainable,” Neville told Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football.
“It’s more whether if the players have the mentality to win the league if they do and come back and have the right attitude to do it again.
“That’s been the problem for Chelsea over the past few years when they have done quite well and some of those players have been through that story when Carlo Ancelotti or Mourinho were in charge and they haven’t been able to raise the game the following season.
“If they keep the same attitude and application, it’s not down to the training programme. If it doesn’t go well, the managers gets sacked.
“It wasn’t Mourinho who changed or Claudio [Ranieri] this season, but the players’ attitude and mentality that changed.”
