It was heartbreak for Bertrand Traore and Burkina Faso on Wednesday night, as they lost their semifinal clash against Egypt, in the African Cup of Nations.
Traore was a shining light for his country during the game, but it had to take a penalty shootout for Egypt to win the game.
Former Chelsea winger Mohamed Salah had given Egypt the lead midway through the second half before Aristide Bance drew Burkina Faso level soon after.
With both teams tied to a draw, it went into extra time and penalty shootout.
Veteran Egypt goalkeeper Essam El-Hadary was the hero as Egypt progressed to the Africa Cup of Nations final on penalties. He saved penalties from opposite number Kouakou Herve Koffi and Bertrand Traore to seal a 4-3 victory on penalty shootout.
