Swansea boss Paul Clement was Carlo Ancelotti’s assistant during Ancelotti’s time as Chelsea boss.

Ancelotti led Chelsea to the title in 2010 before he was sacked a year later after Chelsea finished second in the league to Manchester United.

Clement has revealed how Ancelotti took the players out for a great night at a London bar to say his goodbyes to the players.

Clement also revealed the big players in Chelsea like Frank Lampard, John Terry and Ashley Cole did not want Ancelotti to go.

Ancelotti was sacked after Chelsea drew our last game of the season at  Goodison Park.

“I was having a drink with David Moyes. Carlo told me on the bus that he’d been sacked. Then word got around,” Clement recalls.

“Carlo was half expecting it. When we got back, we went out in London and had a really good night.

“It was a bar up in town. We went with some players – Frank Lampard, John Terry, Ashley Cole. Great night. The big players did not want him to go.”
