Chelsea attacker Willian has lost his place in the starting XI this season to Pedro despite being Chelsea’s Player of the Year last season.

Willian has not started in any of Chelsea’s last three Premier League games after losing his place in the team to Pedro but Willian still welcomes competition for places in Chelsea.

“Once we have a chance to come in, we have to try to do our best,” Willian said.

“It shows how together the whole squad is, not only 11 players. It’s good to have 15 players or more that fight for positions, but in a good way, to try to help the team.

“And when we make a substitution in the game we are coming on and trying to do our best, for the team, and to help Chelsea win.”

Willian has scored 5 goals in 22 appearances for Chelsea this season which is his best tally since joining Chelsea in 2013.
