When Manchester United secured the signing of Frenchman Paul Pogba, United fans screamed “we will win the league”. But the signing of N’Golo Kante from Leicester City wasn’t met with much fanfare, and much like Kante’s humility all Chelsea fans hoped for was a spot in the Champions League.

Manchester United secured Paul Pogba’s world record signing during the summer, and the 23-year-old has spent almost the money used to sign Kante just on his hair. In fact, he has had more impact on his hair than on the pitch.

Before the game against Manchester United, the question of who was the better midfielder between Kante and Pogba was a major topic for discussion. Every Chelsea fan was sure that we signed the better Frenchman, and tonight’s game proved it for all to see.

Kante isn’t blessed with size, but what he lacks in size, he has in energy. He was all over the pitch today, and he didn’t only outshine his France teammate, he also made him look like an ordinary player, not forgetting that he won the game for Chelsea with a beautiful goal.

Kante had Pogba in his pocket all through the game, and Pogba’s inability to close Kante led to him scoring the only goal of the game. It was a well-worked goal which just put the icing on the cake.

Kante was probably the best player on the pitch, and only Eden Hazard could boast about being at the same level of performance. For Paul Pogba, the argument is over – Manchester United were robbed off their hard-earned money, while Chelsea got the better deal and bought the better Frenchman.
