Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is a big admirer of Juventus centre back Leonardo Bonucci, who he worked with while he was boss of Juventus and also the Italian national team.
Conte tried to bring 29-year-old Bonucci to Chelsea last summer but failed with a bid but if reports on Yahoo Sports are to be believed, Conte might get his man this summer.
According to Yahoo Sports, Bonucci will leave Juventus this summer for Chelsea or Manchester City if Massimiliano Allegri remains coach of Juventus next season.
Allegri and Bonucci had a public fallout which led to Allegri dropping Bonucci for Juventus second round Champions League match against FC Porto. The pair have reportedly patched things up between them but it seems Bonucci isn’t willing to work with Allegri after the misunderstanding they had.
Signing Bonucci won’t be an easy task as the defender will reportedly command a world record transfer fee for a defender and Conte will have to convince Roman Abramovich on the merits of breaking the world record transfer fee for a defender who will be 30 by May.
