Former Chelsea and current Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho, had called Chelsea a defensive side in a recent interview, and while Antonio Conte refused to be drawn in on war of words with the former Chelsea manager, Chelsea’s stand-in captain Gary Cahill has a perfect response for him.

“I don’t care how we are top of the league. I think we are top of the league for a reason,” Cahill said.

“We have been working hard, playing well, not conceding goals and scoring goals. That’s why we are top of the league.”

Chelsea have scored more goals than Manchester United, and yet Mourinho calls Chelsea a defensive side. Delusion!

The Chelsea stand-in captain then revealed that the team is focused on winning the league this season and aren’t listening to what others are saying.

“We just want to keep that going. I cannot stress enough it’s not over, we’ve got a difficult month next month which is going to be important,” he added.

“We’re focused, we’re not listening to any noise, we know what we’re doing, we’re fully ready to try to see this over the line.

“I just see that we have put ourselves in a good position.”

Chelsea is more than just a football club to me; it's a passion I share, and my affinity with the Chelsea badge is one that will last forever. As far as watching my favourite team is concerned, I'd rather miss a meal than miss a Chelsea game.
