Gary Cahill has won the captain armband for most parts of the season for Chelsea, and has led the team remarkably well on the pitch in the absence of Chelsea captain John Terry.
Chelsea have been formidable this season, and Cahill has revealed that Chelsea’s form isn’t down to luck, but three important factors – work, quality and the team’s fitness.
When asked the ingredients to their success, Cahill said on talkSPORT: “A lot of hard work.
“A lot of quality and we’ve been able to keep a lot of our squad fit this season, which I think has been a massive boost for us.
“The manager has had the whole squad near enough to choose from over the course of the season.
“We’ve paid attention to detail, we’ve been practising, we’ve been working on the shape a lot.
“We’ve been working very hard physically during the week. Obviously we’ve been out of the Champions League so have been working hard during the week.
“We’ve got quality players at this football club who are in top, top form so I think that’s the ingredients for where we are sitting in the league.”
