There has been a lot of debates about who should be crowned Player of the Year at the end of the season. Many believe it should be Eden Hazard and many have also tipped N’Golo Kante.

Chelsea’s stand-in captain Gary Cahill believes N’Golo Kante should be in contention for the award.

“He has to be in consideration for it [the Player of the Year award], for sure,’ England ace Cahill told talkSPORT.

“Everyone has seen his qualities and what he brought to Leicester last season, with the story behind them winning the title.

“To come to a new club he has stepped up again and been tremendous this season. He works hard and is a humble guy off the pitch and on it he is phenomenal.’

Kante has been a key member of Antonio Conte’s winning squad this season and Cahill is in awe of the Frenchman, as he sees firsthand the way he breaks opposition play.

“I notice a lot obviously because he is just in front of me, he is winning balls he has no right to win and is also quality going forward,” Cahill added.
