Romelu Lukaku’s contract renewal with Everton went sour at Goodison Park according to recent reports, as the news filtered through that Romelu Lukaku has rejected Everton’s five-year contract offer – a deal which would have made the Belgian forward the highest-paid player in Everton’s history.
It’s believed the breakdown has stemmed from issues over potential contract clauses in the new deal.
Lukaku’s current contract runs out in 2019, and Everton might be forced to sell the powerhouse of a striker this summer.
So Everton must make some big decisions and could sell the 23-year-old during the summer transfer window, and command anything up to £60 million.
Chelsea are reportedly interested in their former striker, and bookmakers have made the London giants the favourite for his signature.
Chelsea are 2/1 favourites to re-sign their former striker.
Manchester United are next in the betting at 6/1, ahead of Paris Saint-Germain at 8/1 and Atletico Madrid at 10/1.
