Chelsea ladies manager Emma Hayes named an unchanged starting XI after last weekend’s 7-0 thrashing of Doncaster Rovers to play Sunderland, and it paid off as the Chelsea ladies ran out 5-1 winners despite going down to a penalty goal early on.
After conceding an early goal via a penalty kick in the 18th minute, Chelsea’s Ramona Bachmann scored a 39th minute goal, and with just a minute left of play in the first-half, she added another to put Chelsea in front.
An early second-half brace from Hannah Blundell put Chelsea in the front foot, while Drew Spence’s last-minute goal made it 5-1.
The victory put Chelsea through to the semifinals of the FA Cup.
