Chelsea boss Antonio Conte won’t make a summer return for Celtic goalkeeper Craig Gordon after confirmation he has committed his future to Chelsea.
Chelsea submitted two bids for Gordon during the January transfer window as Conte searched for a new backup for Thibaut Courtois after Asmir Begovic revealed his desire to leave Chelsea.
Failure to sign Gordon in January meant Begovic had to remain with Chelsea but it was believed Chelsea might rekindle interest in Gordon this summer.
With Celtic announcing Gordon has signed a new three-year deal which will keep him at Glasgow until 2020, Conte will have to look elsewhere for a backup goalkeeper when Begovic leaves in the summer.
