It’s 11 games to go and Chelsea’s lead at the top of the table is 10 points. 10 points separate Chelsea and Tottenham, as well Manchester City in third place, and former West Ham defender Tony Gale has seen enough and has tipped Chelsea to go home with the league title easily.
He told Sky Sports: “I thought it was all over before that because Chelsea have had it all fall in their lap this season.
“When you go to watch Chelsea it’s quit enlightening because everyone moans about sweeper systems and everything like that and [Antonio Conte] changed it.
“He played with a four at the back early in the season.
“Changed it when John Terry got injured, went to a three and it worked brilliantly.
“David Luiz, everybody said what a useless signing that will be, and he’s been sensational in a three.
“You watch it at a game, if you go to a game rather than watching it on the TV, and you see the pattern of Chelsea and how well drilled they are.
“I think they were always going to cruise it and I think they could win it by more than the 10 points that Leicester won it last season because they’ve been that good and they’ve had it fall in their laps the way that it is.
“Great system, great defensively, and then just sprinkle a little bit of stardust on it, Costa, Willian, Hazard, Pedro and you’ve got a great little outlook there.
“No problem with me, Chelsea will be champions easily.”
