The past few weeks haven’t been all positive for Chelsea fans. The club has been winning, and players performing, but a lot of Chelsea fans are not happy to see their star striker lag behind in the race for the golden boot in the league this season. Diego Costa started the season well, and went on a very amazing scoring run which saw Chelsea go on a 13 game unbeaten run. The goals soon seemed to dry up momentarily, and now he finds himself in 4th place in the scorers chart, behind Harry Kane, Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez.

For most Chelsea fans, it’s an unfair position for Costa to be in especially seeing as he started the season better than all others, and I can understand their sentiments. Without Costa, I don’t know where we’d be as a team this season. He almost single- handedly carried us to our current position. That sort of hard work certainly deserves some reward. But I’m not giving up on his chances just yet, I still have high hopes for him. We have about 12 games left to play in the EPL alone, that’s 12 games to increase his tally. All he needs do is stay fit and healthy. If he does that, and stays in form, there’s a good chance he’ll still finish first in the scorers’ chart. If he were still struggling to score again, it would have been nearly impossible to recover, but thankfully, he has regained his touch, so there’s definitely hope.

I say we keep cheering and supporting him, and pray he stays injury free…if he does, then, we just might be celebrating double honors come May 2017.

What makes him perfect for this blog? He lives for Chelsea FC, in fact, I heard he sat in the middle of a road, and refused to go home after that bitter loss to Barcelona in 2009. Haha.
