Diego Costa was on target for Spain as they cruised to a 4-1 win at home to Israel to remain top of Group G.

The Chelsea forward scored the third goal for Spain with a brilliant header as the Spaniards dominated proceedings.

Spain took the lead after 13 minutes through David Silva, who finished off a wonderful passing move. Victor Vitolo made it 2-0 just before half-time after being picked out by Thiago Alcantara.

Diego Costa led the line and worked hard for his team all night and was rewarded six minutes into the second half when he got his name on the scoresheet with a well-taken header from a corner.

Israel pulled a goal back but Real Madrid’s Isco made sure the 3 goal advantage was restored.

Cesar Azpilicueta and Pedro were both unused substitutes in the game. Spain play France in a friendly next Tuesday.

Chelsea is more than just a football club to me; it's a passion I share, and my affinity with the Chelsea badge is one that will last forever. As far as watching my favourite team is concerned, I'd rather miss a meal than miss a Chelsea game.
