We don’t need a soothsayer to tell us that Antonio Conte doesn’t trust Michy Batshuayi, and that’s why he’s yet to start a Premier League game since joining Chelsea during the summer.
Even an injury to Diego Costa will not assure Batshuayi of a start in the league. Why is this so? What has Batshuayi done wrong?
According to Standard Sport, Antonio Conte has barely used Batshuayi because of the striker’s difficulties in following tactical orders, although Chelsea staffs have been pleased with his professional attitude in training.
Conte revealed in December that plenty of work is being done with Batshuayi behind the scenes, especially in the tactical aspect of the game.
He said: “Michy’s attitude, his behaviour, have been fantastic.
“He wants to improve his quality. Technical quality, physical quality, and we are working a lot with him on tactical aspects.”
Batshuayi has scored 5 goals in as many games for Chelsea in all competitions.
