Like it or not, the season is gradually coming to an end. It’s been a wonderful season of amazing and surprising football in England, with Chelsea probably taking the title for ‘surprise package of the season’. Of course, you know what I’m saying if you’re a Chelsea fan and you follow football. Nobody expected this transformation so early after the horror of 2015/16, but we have, thanks to an amazing coaching crew and team. Our squad probably is the best in the league at the moment, and they have continued to propel us to the Holy Grail.

The season will end in May and in usual fashion, teams will be looking to recruit new players in order to continue to compete. Chelsea currently have a very good and strong squad already, so it won’t have to ‘be a do or die’ process, but that doesn’t mean we won’t be signing any new players, it’s important to always bring in new talent and faces, as it helps add some freshness to the team.

Considering our current squad, we don’t need much players to  come in, what we do need to do is go for two high profile names who can bring freshness and excitement to the team. I can’t think of two names we can bring right now (maybe Verratti and Lukaku will be good choices if they are available), but I do know that it’d be a major boost for Chelsea going into next season.

A player like Lukaku, for example with his current form in front of goal would add so much value to our attack. Imagine we had Marco verratti playing alongside the likes of N’Golo kante and Cesc Fabregas in the midfield, we’d be an even deadlier team. That’s how much great names can do for a team. So while we don’t need to acquire much in the summer, we have to get in at least, one big player to add some newness to the team.

Or what do you think?

What makes him perfect for this blog? He lives for Chelsea FC, in fact, I heard he sat in the middle of a road, and refused to go home after that bitter loss to Barcelona in 2009. Haha.
