Chelsea have been linked with Everton striker Romelu Lukaku for the second season in a row.
Chelsea had a reported bid of £60 million turned down by the Toffees for the former Chelsea striker, but Rio Ferdinand has told Everton to sell the Belgian now that his value is still high or they might lose him on the cheap when his contract will be left with a year next year.
Ferdinand told BT Sport: “I don’t see him staying because if [his contract] goes down to a year then the price tag goes down.
“I think they’ll cash in this season because he’s made it apparent he wants to leave. His agent doesn’t mess about.
“More importantly he’s a guy who’s best mates with [Paul] Pogba. He’s seeing other friends and other players from the Belgium team go on and win things.
“He wants a step up and he wants to be part of that, he wants to be part of the conversation.”
