Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez is nearing the end of his contract with Arsenal, and the Chilean isn’t ready to sign a new deal with the club.
Chelsea are reportedly interested in signing the Chilean, and reports have it that the Blues have made him a key target this summer.
Ex-West Ham defender Gale believes Sanchez would be the ideal replacement for Eden Hazard and that a big enough offer could convince Arsenal to do a deal.
He told Sky Sports: “If the transfer market starts moving and Eden Hazard goes to Real Madrid, then you’ve got to replace him.
“Who’s the perfect replacement? It would be Alexis Sanchez, wouldn’t it?
“Would Arsenal sell him to Chelsea? I’m not so sure about that.
“I couldn’t really see it happening but money talks at the end of the day.
“If his contract’s running out and they don’t renew it, he becomes worth less and if Chelsea offer the money it might come up.
“Petr Cech went the other way and who would have thought that?
“Funnier things have happened but I think the Arsenal fans would be livid.”
Reports now claim Arsenal will want nothing less than £50 million for their star player. While Chelsea might be interested in signing Sanchez, the club definitely wouldn’t want to sell him. I disagree with Gale on that one.
