Former Chelsea left-back Scott Minto wore the Chelsea jersey for three seasons between 1994 and 1997, and the former Blue has revealed that he had the option to choose between playing for Chelsea and Arsenal, but he opted for Chelsea.
“I had the choice between Chelsea and Arsenal, and I chose Chelsea,” Minto told the official Chelsea website. “Charlton was a wonderful club for me, but it was clear we weren’t going to reach the Premier League at that time.
“To have Chelsea and Arsenal after me was fantastic. I met George Graham but I just felt Chelsea was the right club for me, and I certainly haven’t regretted that decision.”
Minto suffered bad luck with injuries during his time at Chelsea, but he’ll never forget his Chelsea spell as he was part of the team which won our first major trophy in 26 years, the 1997 FA Cup.
