Tottenham beat Everton 3-2 on Sunday, and Manchester City beat Sunderland 2-0 on Sunday as well. This put Chelsea under pressure as we went away to the London Stadium to play a derby game against West Ham.

Tottenham forward Harry Kane admitted after their victory against Everton that he wants West Ham to beat Chelsea. He said: “We played very well today and controlled the game and then all of a sudden it was a nervy end. It’s an important win, we should have won by more but it’s another step closer to the top of the table.

“We want West Ham to win against Chelsea tomorrow, we don’t normally say that.”

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino also hoped for a Chelsea slip-up on Monday night. He said: “We need to be there, it’s not up to us of course, but it’s up to us to be ready if they (Chelsea) fail.”

Kane and his manager Pochettino must have watched the game with all hopes that Chelsea will lose, but Eden Hazard had another plan. The Belgian was excellent against the Hammers, and his touch for the first goal was just great. Diego Costa added another 5 minutes after the restart to seal the victory and take Chelsea one step closer to the title.

It’s 11 games left now, and it feels good that the Blues shut the mouths of Kane and Co with a well-drilled performance.

Champions elect? We sure are!
