Just a few years ago, N’Golo Kante was unknown in the football world. But he’s now one of the most talked about players in the game.
The 25-year-old is known for his energy and workrate, which helped stir Leicester City to the title last season and is on the verge of doing so for Chelsea this season.
Speaking about Kante’s start to his career, JS Suresnes youth coach Piotr Wojtyna has revealed he used to put the player in with lower-ability groups so he’d have to double his efforts
“He was very receptive to coaching – with tactical information or positioning, where to be on the field,” Wojtyna told BBC Sport.
“He always listened very carefully and the decisions he made on the pitch were very intelligent. I always put him with the weakest kids because his efforts counted for double.”
