Everton manager Ronald Koeman has revealed Everton will have to sell Ross Barkley this summer if he does not sign a new Everton contract. Barkley’s current deal at Everton expires at the end of next season, and he is yet to pen new terms.
With Chelsea interested in both Romelu Lukaku and Ross Barkley, Everton might lose both players to Chelsea in the same window.
“Ross is a boy from Everton & what we need to show to him is the best reasons to stay,” Koeman said.
“The player by himself needs to understand it’s not an ultimatum. I spoke to Ross about a new contract. Now it’s up to the board
“He needs to sign a new contract or you sell the player.
“You need to make a decision that the club knows what will happen next year. That’s normal business – not like an ultimatum.”
