Chelsea legend Frank Lampard is regarded by many as the club’s greatest player of all time. The 38-year-old had a successful 13-year career spell at the club and won three Premier League titles, and came second on four different occasions.
The Chelsea legend has revealed that the only regret he had was not winning enough titles during his time at Stamford Bridge. He believed Chelsea could have won more due to the quality of players at the club.
“My major regret if we’re talking Chelsea and the Premier League is that we didn’t win more titles,” the 38-year-old told Sky Sports.
“We won three. We had the players and the personnel to do it and three seems a bit light for me. There are times I can remember when we came second and we could’ve won more.
“Runner-up means nothing. I think for the team and the players we had over that period, we could’ve won more.”
Since Roman Abramovich became the owner of the club, Chelsea have only won the league on four occasions, and it still beats me that with the quality of players we have, we haven’t been champions at least six to seven times.
