Chelsea technical director Michael Emenalo was honoured at this week’s Football Black List celebration evening. Chelsea Ladies forward Eniola Aluko was also awarded at the event.

The award was set up by film-maker Leon Mann and journalist Rodney Hinds in 2008, as they came together to recognise the spectrum of African and Caribbean achievement in the British game.

Chelsea Ladies forward Aluko picked up an award in the player category, while technical director Emenalo was recognised in the administration category.

Emenalo said: “It’s an honour to be named on this year’s Black List. Events like this help celebrate the achievements of the black community within the game and showcase the great work being done at all levels of football.

“I have no doubt that these type of initiatives can increase the number of people from all minority groups working within the industry and make our game representative of the communities it serves.”
