MIKEL CAPTAINS TIANJIN TEDA TO A LOSS AS CHINESE LEAGUE RESUMES

It wasn’t a good day in office for Chelsea great John Obi Mikel, as he captained his Tianjin TEDA side to a 2-0 loss on the opening day of the Chinese Super League.

Mikel made his Chinese Super League debut for Tianjin TEDA on Saturday in their 2-0 defeat to Shandong Luneng at Jinan Olympic Sports Center Stadium.

Goals from Binbin Liu and Pappis Cisse in the 78th and 82nd minutes respectively ensured Mikel’s team returned home empty-handed.

The loss leaves Tianjin TEDA in 15th position and they will play Jiangsu Suning FC next on March 10 as they aim for a first win.
