It’s been something close to a fairytale season for us thus far. Not many would have imagined that we’d be this good this season, how much more 10 points clear at the top of the league with about 11 matches remaining. Of course the journey couldn’t have been what it is without the immense contributions of our players. Every single one that has represented Chelsea this season has done so excellently, but of course, we know that there are a few who have dominated headlines more than others because of their consistency.

In our defence, we have seen a completely different Gary Cahill. Last season, he wasn’t his usual self and made lots of errors, but he has been brilliant so far. His partner, David Luiz has also cut a different figure since his return from Paris on transfer deadline day. Cesar Azpilicueta, Marcus Alonso, Nemanja Matic, Cesc Fabregas, Victor Moses, Pedro, Diego Costa – everyone has been impressive, but personally, Eden Hazard and N’Golo Kante have outshone every other player this season. Between the two of them, it’s almost difficult to choose who has been better.

Hazard has contributed in his usual goal scoring style. He has also created lots of goal scoring chances, and Kante has been superb. Since his arrival, our midfield has taken a new shape. He is the midfield king, and he knows how to do his job. We all love Hazard, but I think that Kante has added more to us than Hazard this season. His midfield prowess is top class and the best you can get in the EPL. He is a tireless player and he is a plus to any team any day. And this is the reason I am rating him ahead of Eden Hazard this season.

But hey, don’t forget this, it’s only my opinion. It’s not that of the blog, and I’m sure you probably have yours too. Do share it with us. Between Hazard and Kante, who would you crown ‘Player of the Year’?

King Jay is a writer/broadcaster with years of experience under his belt. His love affair with Chelsea actually began as a joke, but today, he stands tall as a die-hard blue. What makes him perfect for this blog? He lives for Chelsea FC, in fact, I heard he sat in the middle of a road, and refused to go home after that bitter loss to Barcelona in 2009. Haha.

  1. To be sincere both of them had being superb these but N’GOLO KANTE IS THE BEST..
