Very difficult game against the Potters today, and Chelsea had to leave it late to get all three points at the Bet365 Stadium.
See how the players fared:
Courtois: Wasn’t tested today and couldn’t do much about the penalty goal scored by Jon Walters. 6/10
Azpilicueta: Was solid at the back and did well when he reverted from a centre-back position to a full-back. 6.5/10
Luiz: The Brazilian was efficient in the centre of defence and as a result Saido Berahino was made so ineffective before being replaced by Mame Diouf. 7/10
Cahill: Was unfortunate to have conceded that penalty but made up for it by scoring the match winner very late in the game. 7.5/10
Kante: Was one of the best players on the pitch yet again; worked hard for the team in midfield, stole a lot of balls, helped the attack and shored things up at the back. 7.5/10
Matic: Had an anonymous display in the middle of the park before being eventually substituted with about 8 minutes left of the game. 5.5/10
Moses: Not the best of displays from the Nigerian, probably because of the slight injury from the last game. 6/10
Alonso: Had a good game and could easily have scored a brace. His was effort saved by goalkeeper Grant in the half hour mark and the woodwork denied a goal from a stunning free-kick in the second-half. 7/10
Willian: Gave Chelsea the lead from a tricky free-kick in the first half and threatened on a number of occasions. 7/10
Pedro: Worked really hard for the team today and had a good game. Unlucky not to have found the net from his curling efforts. 7/10
Costa: Not the best of game from the Spain international as he had a physical battle with Martins Indi all game long. Almost got a goal in the dying minutes of the game. 6/10
Subs
Fabregas: Replaced Matic with about 20 minutes left to play, and influenced proceedings as Chelsea rallied around for a late winner. 6.5/10
Loftus-Cheek: Replaced Matic with about 8 minutes left, and could easily have scored a brace. Looked very lively. 6.5/10
Zouma: Came on for Willian with just two minutes left of normal time.
