William Gallas appeared on talkSPORT earlier today and discussed a wide range of topics with Alan Brazil and Danny Kelly, including the biggest club in London debate, of which he said it was Chelsea.
The former Chelsea defender also gave an interesting comment about the Blues’ supposed interest in a £50 million deal for Southampton defender Virgil van Dijk.
Chelsea are believed to have earmarked the Dutchman as a key target in Antonio Conte’s planned summer overhaul at Stamford Bridge as he looks to build a squad capable of competing in the Champions League.
Kelly posed the question on Van Dijk by saying: “Chelsea, as you say, fantastic this year and I think their defence, along with Spurs, is a really, really excellent defence.
“Is Virgil van Dijk worth £50m?”
But rather than talk about the fee, Gallas responded by surprisingly asking who he was.
“No, to be honest, no,” he added when asked if he had seen much of Van Dijk.
“So I cannot say anything about it.”
