Gary Cahill was adjudged to have fouled Jonathan Walters in the penalty box with less than ten minutes to the end of the first-half. Walters scored the resulting penalty, but Cahill believes it was a very soft penalty.
“When you make a mistake, I felt it was a soft penalty, but nevertheless you want to make it right in some way, somehow, so I’m delighted to get the goal,” the 31-year-old said. “The most important thing is the win but I was delighted to get the goal. I felt I’ve showed character time and time again this season just as we have as a team, and you get the rewards sometimes.”
Cahill netted the winner on the 87th minute to give Chelsea a deserved victory, and with 10 games left to go, the Blues are riding high.
