Everton striker Romelu Lukaku left Stamford Bridge 3 years ago to join Everton for a fee of £28million and the striker is reportedly set to return to Stamford Bridge this summer if Diego Lukaku leaves for China at the end of the season.
According to Daily Express, Chelsea plan to test Everton’s resolve with a deal that could see Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi move to Goodison Park plus around £40million for Lukaku.
Batshuayi joined Chelsea last summer from Marseille for a fee of around £33million but the striker has had few opportunities to impress with reports claiming Chelsea boss Antonio Conte don’t trust him.
Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann is also linked with a move for Chelsea in the summer but Daily Express claim Conte sees Lukaku ahead of Griezmann as the perfect replacement if Diego Costa opts to head off to China.
23-year-old Lukaku is eager to leave Everton at the end of the season after he refused to sign a new contract with Everton.
Lukaku said: “It’s done. I want to win titles and trophies. That’s not being arrogant, just ambitious. There is nothing wrong with ambition, you need to embrace it.”
