Chelsea striker Diego Costa refused to rule out a move to China this summer in an interview this week with a Spanish radio and according to The Telegraph, Chelsea aren’t bothered about Costa’s statements as the board will be happy to let Costa leave if the right offer is received.
Costa revealed he tried to push for a return to Atletico Madrid last summer in an interview with Spanish radio station El Larguero and despite insisting he is happy at Chelsea, Costa refused to rule out a move to China at the end of the season.
Contract talks with Chelsea have been reportedly shelved according to The Telegraph and Costa confirmed he will move to China if Chelsea accept a bid for him – even though he will not fight to force a transfer.
Costa told El Larguero: “Anything can happen. Why not? You never know. Now I’m happy at Chelsea but if tomorrow the Chinese come and Chelsea tell me I have to go, I will no longer want to stay with them.”
