A lot will be done by Chelsea to starve off Real Madrid’s interest in Chelsea star Eden Hazard. For two seasons in a row, the Spanish giant have been interested in Hazard, and report now claims he’s being seen as the replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo, who’s nearing the end of his career.
The Real Madrid star is 32, and Madrid are ready to look to the future, hence their interest in Hazard.
According to The Guardian, though Madrid do not consider the large group of top players, including Ronaldo, Bale and Benzema, as obstacles to Hazard’s inclusion. However, it is believed that in terms of long-term thinking, Madrid know they must prepare for life beyond Ronaldo.
Reports have it that Chelsea are in talks to give Hazard a new deal. I think it’s time for Chelsea to give Hazard a new bumper contract, as his contract will expire in 2020, and he surely deserves a better deal than the £200,000 he’s currently earning.
