Chelsea and a host of other clubs have an interest in PSG’s Marco Verratti. However, PSG, Marco Verratti and even his brother has made it clear that he wouldn’t be leaving the Paris club.
Now, latest report from Mundo Deportivo claims Verratti has instructed his agent to secure him a move away from Paris Saint-Germain this summer.
The report claims that the talented midfielder was deeply upset after PSG crashed out of the Champions League against Barcelona while newspaper reports regarding his private life have now pushed him over the edge.
After the loss to PSG, Verratti’s brother Stefano Verratti claimed his brother wouldn’t be leaving Paris.
“Personally I thought he would go to Juventus because when we were little and we played football in our room or in the piazza in Manopello, our dream was Juventus,” Stefano Verratti told L’Equipe.
“Will he leave PSG? My brother has always been respectful of the team, I think if he can he’ll stay in Paris for life.
“He’s very attached to this city, it’s where his son was born. It was in Paris that Marco became a man. Teammates change but the club and the city remain.
“In my opinion, Marco will only return to Italy if PSG decide he’s no longer useful here. What I hope is that when he’s 30, 32, he’ll come back to finish his career with Pescara.”
We’ll see how the story pans out in coming weeks. But one thing is for sure, if Verratti wants to leave PSG, then Chelsea must be ready to sign the Italian.
