Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has long been an admirer of Napoli centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly.
The 25-year-old Senegal international is considered as one of the best defenders in Serie A and his agent Bruno Satin, has hinted all is not well between his player and president Aurelio De Laurentiis. The agent also hinted that there’s a possibility he’d leave Napoli at the end of the season.
“The player is very relaxed, I saw him after the game [against Real Madrid],” said Satin.
“At the moment, we don’t want to talk about his future but with a president like this who has a lot to say, it is difficult for us to affirm 100 per cent that he will be staying at Napoli next season.
“[But] he wants to finish the season on a high even if it will be almost impossible to surpass Juventus for the league title.”
Conte might still shop for a defender during the summer transfer window, as he might look to replace John Terry, and a move for Koulibaly might be ideal, but his £60 million valuation is still too high.
