Football can most times be likened to a traitor. It can stick up for you and give you a pleasurable ride and also in a flash it can bring you down to earth crashing like a pack of cards. After our FA Cup win over Manchester United which continues our fascinating season under Antonio Conte, all attention must now shift to league matters. The truth is we have 11 unanswered questions that pose as a threat to our title ambitions. Here are they:

CAN CHELSEA RAZE STOKE CITY?

Mark Hughes side were the first side to really expose our aerial weakness with Peter Crouch causing havoc. Stoke City have been between brilliance and mediocrity. A solid display against us earlier in the season was only overturned by our attacking prowess. Certainly, the bet365 Stadium won’t be an easy place to go. We must do well to continue our title surge.

(We passed the Stoke City test by winning 2-1 at the bet365 Stadium on Saturday afternoon).

CAN CHELSEA PULL DOWN THE WEST BROM GATE?

A battling first league meeting against Tony Pulis’ West Brom was drab, no thanks to their defensive game plan, but however Diego Costa’s magic secured all three points. A team famous for packing the bus will be all out to make things difficult for us. We surely should expect to be frustrated at the Hawthorns as our recent record at their stadium is appalling. Let’s watch out!.

CAN CHELSEA DO A LEAGUE DOUBLE OVER MANCHESTER CITY?

Chelsea’s victory at the Etihad stadium city confirmed our status as title contender/favourites. In retrospect, City’s capitulation was Chelsea’s gain as a perfect second half response was too much for Pep Guardiola’s team. Can Chelsea do the double over them? Can City upset Chelsea’s title bid? Let’s find out.

CAN CHELSEA DOOM SUNDERLAND?

By the time this game might be played, Chelsea may have been crowned Premier League champions. But if not, and the title race and battle for survival go down to the wire on the last day of the season, then let’s expect a real battle, especially one we just can’t afford to lose.

CAN CHELSEA BOOT OUT MIDDLESBROUGH?

Another game against a relegation-threatened side promises to be a huge encounter. Can Chelsea boot out this Boro side? Our home record is a boost as well as Boro’s lack of attacking firepower. Let’s watch out!

CAN CHELSEA WIN THEIR CASE AT BOURNEMOUTH’S DEAN COURT?

Bournemouth’s Dean Court is always fired up for football action. Eddie Howe’s fanciful & flair team give their all for the fans especially in games against top half opposition. Can they spring a surprise package or will Chelsea put their case to rest in their court? Find out!

CAN CHELSEA OUTWIT SOUTHAMPTON?

Claude Puel’s south coast club are a force in midtable and can cause problems on their day. The presence of star player, Manolo Gabbiadini who has boosted their attacking force will surely be one to watch out for, especially with his swashbuckling display against Manchester United in the League Cup final still in mind. Can Chelsea silence them? Let’s turn up for this.

CAN CHELSEA KEEP EVERTON AT BAY?

Everton have found their grove under Ronald Koeman lately and the form of their star striker, Romelu Lukaku will surely light up their hopes for victory. After enduring a chastening defeat earlier in the season at Stamford Bridge, Everton would be looking to turn up in this game. But can Chelsea keep them at bay? Don’t miss this.

CAN CHELSEA WALTZ PAST WATFORD?

Walter Mazzari’s side made life difficult for Chelsea in our first game against them this season. With points needed desperately by both sides to achieve their ambitions, expect another tough game, but do we have the firepower to waltz past them? Keep your eyes on this one.

CAN CHELSEA EDGE PAST MANCHESTER UNITED?

The animosity between the sides has been aggravated by two feisty battles that have failed to go Jose Mourinho’s way. Two defeats for Jose’s United and two wins for Conte’s Chelsea. Will Jose finally be able to get one over his former employers who now see him as ‘Judas – a traitor’ when both side battle at Old Trafford? Will Chelsea boost their title dreams at United’s theatre of dreams? Let’s watch out!

CAN CHELSEA CAGE THE EAGLES IN THEIR PALACE?

Sam Allardyce’s team are beginning to find form, but will that be enough to keep them up? Can they get a result against Chelsea that will ease their relegation fears? Will Chelsea wither or weather the storm that may cloud at Palace or will they cage the eagles in their palace? It’s a must watch.

Let’s hope for the perfect response from the team. Cheers!
