It’s still on football matters today as premier league action heats up. With wins for Spurs and Manchester City already counted, the onus is on Chelsea to show their mettle as Champions-elect. Next is our London Derby against West Ham United at the London Stadium. Already, we’ve played against them and recorded a defeat in a League cup clash earlier in the season. However, it’s a different ball game as they are sure to face a vintage Chelsea side. Here are three things to expect from this game:
IT’S GONNA BE A PHYSICAL CONTEST:
Chelsea head to East London having lost our last 2 games against West Ham away from home. Both games, one in the league and the other in the League Cup, resulted in West Ham United winning 2-1. This surely will lead to s physical battle as both sides will be looking to boost their season objectives.
With the likes of West Ham’s Kayouate & Chelsea’s Kante & Matic in midfield, let’s expect a physical game.
DERBY MATCH BRAGGING RIGHTS:
The derby match always add spice to a game. Like the Merseyside & Manchester derbies, the London derby is one to watch out for, especially in the capital. West Ham and Chelsea are local rivals and the bragging rights looks set to be contested once the referee gets the match underway. Certainly, hostilities will be resurrected as the winner of this contest will have the pleasure of walking head high.
COUNTER PLAYING STYLES:
Now, this is the groove of the match. Both teams have different playing styles. While West Ham play progressively on the counterattack, Chelsea look to dominant games with neat pass interchanges leading to devastating counterattacking play supported by defensive solidity at the back. As well West Ham are effective with aerial play while that seems to be Chelsea weakness. It will surely be an interesting game to watch.
Let’s keep the blue flag flying high. Cheers!
