The last time Chelsea went to the London Stadium, the Blues suffered a 2-1 loss in the hands of West Ham, which sent Antonio Conte’s men crashing out of the EFL Cup.

The Blues will go there again on Monday as they look to go closer to the Premier League title.

Sky Sports pundit Paul Merson has backed Chelsea to beat West Ham at the London Stadium, despite the EFL Cup result in October.

West Ham have picked back form this season, but they haven’t been entirely convincing at home, and Merson foresees a Chelsea win.

“Chelsea look like a well-oiled machine at the moment which is showing no signs of any faults,” Merson told Sky Sports.

“They did lose to West Ham at the London Stadium in the EFL Cup earlier in the season, but I do not expect a repeat performance.

“I expect Chelsea to win this game.

“West Ham have struggled in front of their own fans and are a better side away from home.”
