Eden Hazard has been phenomenal this season and is a huge reason Chelsea are top of the table. His form has strongly attracted interest from Real Madrid and the Spanish giants are keen on landing the Chelsea star.
Recently, Hazard spoke to Sky Sports about his Chelsea future – and admitted that he is not thinking about a new contract with the club yet as his focus is on the remaining games of the season.
But former Chelsea assistant manager Ray Wilkins believes Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich will do everything possible to keep the Belgian at Stamford Bridge for as long as possible.
“Chelsea have got to be vying for the Champions League to keep players and encourage the best ones to join,” Wilkins told Sky Sports News.
“Mr Abramovich will try extremely hard to keep hold of him as long as he possibly can.
“To reach those standards that I’m talking about, you have to have players of Hazard’s quality – and he is truly world-class.”
