The PFA Team of the Season has been revealed, and to the amazement of many, Tottenham’s Danny Rose was voted the best left-back in the league, despite having been injured since January.

However, Marcos Alonso has been a revelation for Chelsea as a left wing-back this season, and has been highly consistent with his amazing displays, but he didn’t make the team.

Arsenal legend Martin keown has revealed that Alonso should have made the team ahead of Rose.

“Marcos Alonso can count himself unlucky to have missed out on the left. We saw just how much Chelsea missed him against Manchester United,” Keown said.

Chelsea left wing-back Marcos Alonso was unlucky to miss out on a place in this season’s PFA Team of the Year, according to Arsenal legend Martin Keown.

“Marcos Alonso can count himself unlucky to have missed out on the left. We saw just how much Chelsea missed him against Manchester United,” Keown said.

“He has hardly missed a game this season and for team of the year you have to consider players who have been regularly available for selection.

“Alonso would make my team ahead of Danny Rose but would be the only Chelsea player in the back five.”
