Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger reportedly wants to hijack Chelsea’s move for Southampton defender Virgil van Dijk this summer according to Daily Mirror.

The £50 million-rated defender is in Antonio Conte’s transfer shortlist as Conte seeks to strengthen Chelsea’s defence during the summer.

Arsenal have reportedly made enquiries about the Dutch defender but Chelsea are in pole position and remain confident of signing Van Dijk.

Wenger is the latest manager to copy Antonio Conte’s 3-man defence system after using a back three at Middlesbrough on Monday night.

He reportedly wants to use a back-three more and wants Van Dijk at Emirates as one of the three defenders.
