Chelsea development squad moved into fourth spot in the Premier League 2 table after beating Sunderland 3-0 at Stamford Bridge on Friday evening.
It took just four minutes for Chelsea to assert their dominance as Mason Mount swung in a set-piece from the right which evaded Ike Ugbo but was converted at the far post by Richard Nartey.
Mason Mount who was just rewarded with a new contract was in good form for the development squad, as he caused countless problems for the Sunderland defence besides assisting the first goal.
Seven minutes before the break, under-16 defender Jon Panzo picked up the ball in an advanced position on the left flank and Ugbo’s diving header met his teasing cross to place the ball firmly into the bottom corner.
A third goal which was scored by Ike Ugbo five minutes after the restart sealed the victory for Chelsea.
