There was a heavy presence from some important Chelsea men as the Chelsea youngsters beat their Manchester City counterpart 5-1 to be crowned winners of the FA Youth Cup.
With the first leg evenly poised at 1-1, Trevoh Chalobah began the scoring early on, heading home from Mason Mount’s outswinging corner to put Chelsea in front. Ike Ugbo then acrobatically converted with a volley to make it two.
After the break, Lukas Nmecha pulled one back for City, before Callum Hudson-Odoi restored Chelsea’s two-goal advantage.
Dujon Sterling then made it 4-1 to the Blues before Cole Dasilva scored the fifth to well and truly put the tie to bed.
Antonio Conte, John Terry and Frank Lampard were in attendance, and Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich was also present as the young Blues ran riot.
After Ike Ugbo’s acrobatic effort, Abramovich was so pleased that he shook the hands of Antonio Conte in celebration.
