Chelsea Under-18s moved to the top of the Under-18 Premier League elite merit group after defeating Manchester United in a seven-goal thriller at Cobham on Saturday.

Ethan Hamilton put Manchester United ahead in the 9th minute, but Juan Castillo equalised in the 22nd minute.

Conor Gallagher put Chelsea ahead five minutes later from the penalty spot.

United’s striker Josh Bohui’s pace and movement had proved a threat to Chelsea’s defence all along and he latched on to a pass before firing across goal and squeezing the shot beyond Cumming and into the bottom corner to make it 2-2.

Following a clumsy challenge on George McEachran, Gallagher assumed spot-kick duties again and this time fired high to re-establish our advantage in the 64th minute. Nishan Burkhart restored parity for United in the 74th minute to make the game indeed a duly contested rivalry

However, it was to be Chelsea’s day as Castillo accelerated into space before delivering a perfect centre for McEachran, who slotted the ball home in 90+5 minutes.
