With a potentially filled to capacity Wembley stadium anticipating ange gearing up for the high-stakes clash between Chelsea and Spurs, there promises to be display of skillsets, football intelligence and panache as both teams can boast of top internationals in their ranks. Let’s look at a combined starting eleven from both teams and see who makes the cut.

This will be done based on current form and fitness levels of players from both teams in 3-4-3 formation favoured their manager:

GOALKEEPER:

This is a tight contest between two of the finest goalkeepers in the Premier League, and worldwide. With Thibaut Courtois back into the Chelsea side and Hugo Lloris for Spurs, and with my Chelsea hat on, I’ll go for Chelsea’s Thibaut Courtois in goal. Sorry Spurs fans!

RIGHT CENTRAL DEFENSE:

It’s a straight battle between Eric Dier and Cesar Azpilicueta. This spot goes to the Chelsea utility man — Cesar Azpilicueta.

LEFT CENTRAL DEFENSE:

With options in John Terry, Kurt Zouma and Nathan Ake to fill in for the sick Gary Cahill, I’ll go for Spurs defender Toby Alderweireld.

CENTRAL DEFENCE:

A straight battle between David Luiz and Jan Vertogen. No partiality, the Brazilian is more of a commanding force and all rounder than the Belgian. I’ll pick David Luiz.

RIGHT HOLDING MIDFIELDER:

N’golo Kante up against Victor Wanyama. Two of the world best combative midfielders, but I’ll go for Kante.

LEFT HOLDING MIDFIELDER:

For all of Nemanja Matic’s display of brain and brawn, I’ll opt for Spurs Moussa Dembele guile, craft and instinctive play.

LEFT WING-BACK:

With Danny Rose out of this clash, and Ben Davies not a reliable deputy, I’ll go for Chelsea’s Marcos Alonso.

RIGHT WING-BACK:

A battle between Victor Moses for Chelsea and Kyle Walker for Spur is a hard choice. I’ll go for the Spurs right-back

RIGHT-WING FORWARD:

Pedro Rodriguez is an amazing player, but without a second thought, I’ll go for Spurs Delle Alli.

LEFT-WING FORWARD:

Spurs Christian Eriksen is a creative player with an amazing football brain, but directly up against Eden Hazard, then I’m left with no choice than to go for with Chelsea’s magical NO. 10.

CENTRAL FORWARD:

Diego Costa’s loss of form and lacklustre performances of late, leaves me with no choice than to go for Spurs hitman, Harry Kane.

Let’s air our views on our preferred team selection and have fun. Cheers!
