Gary Cahill was absent from the Chelsea team that defeated Tottenham 4-2 on Saturday evening. The stand-in captain missed the game through illness and youngster Nathan Ake took his place in the victory.
Conte has heaped praises on the young Dutch defender while also revealing that Cahill is back to training and might be available for Tuesday’s game.
“Gary yesterday he trained with us and also today,” Conte said in his pre-match press conference. “It is normal to check his condition and I want to speak very well with him tomorrow before I take the decision. I am very happy if he is able to pay tomorrow but also I want to underline Nathan Ake’s performance [against Spurs}. I was pleased for his performance. He played a really good game and he is very important for us.”
