Chelsea have nine games left to play in the Premier League this season, and our closest title rival Tottenham have nine games as well, and only seven points separate Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur.
Speaking ahead of the Manchester City clash, Chelsea manager Antonio Conte revealed in his pre-match press conference that the team needs to get 21 points from the possible 29 to be crowned champions.
“With 27 points available, it is normal that anything can happen in this league,” Conte said, “and for sure we need 21 points to win the league mathematically, but we are in a really good position and nobody thought Chelsea could fight this season for the title. We want to keep this position. We know there are many teams that want to win the league, but it’s normal this. I hope that who wins this league will deserve to win the league.”
Chelsea host Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City on Wednesday night, and the Italian will be hoping to get all three points.
