Following the tunnel incident that happened at Stamford Bridge after Chelsea’s 2-1 victory over Manchester City on Wednesday night, Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has urged his players and staff to celebrate victories with respect.
According to reports, Chelsea fitness coach Paulo Bertelli and Manchester City’s masseur Mark Sertori had to be kept apart by stewards in the tunnel following Chelsea’s win against Manchester City and angry words were reportedly exchanged.
Conte revealed he didn’t see the incident but stressed the importance of celebrating victories with respect.
“It’s always important (to celebrate in a respectful way),” Conte said.
“This is one of the most important things in football.
“But I think there is a winner and there is a loser and both must accept the final result and show respect.
“I didn’t see anything because I was in the changing-room to stay with my players. I didn’t see. But it’s not important, what happened in the tunnel.
“What is most important is what happened on the pitch.
“I think a lot of people enjoyed this game, Chelsea against City, and that is the most important thing for us.”
