Chelsea left wing-back Marcos Alonso missed Chelsea’s 2-0 defeat to Manchester United on Sunday after he was struck down by a virus. He pulled out of the clash in the warm-up.

After the match against Manchester United, it was also revealed that Victor Moses and Diego Costa played the game against Manchester United despite both players being struck down by a virus.

According to a Daily Express report, Alonso, Moses and Costa “were absent from training at the end of last week but did their utmost to be fit for the United showdown”.

A report by Daily Express claims Antonio Conte’s decision to have a team-bonding meal before Chelsea’s clash with Manchester United on Sunday was reportedly the reason for the spread of the virus that affected several players.

Gary Cahill is also reportedly not feeling well after being struck by the virus.

However, all four players are expected to be fit for Chelsea’s FA Cup semi-final clash against Tottenham on Saturday.
